Mother Holle (Holle anyó)
The widow had two daughters: a stepdaughter, who was pretty and hard-working, and her own daughter, who was ugly and lazy. The stepdaughter had to work all day, while the lazy one idled the days away. But the miracle did not keep us waiting long. The hard-working and good-hearted girl reaped her rewards from Mother Holle whilst the greedy and envious girl was punished: instead of a shower of gold, she had to wear the marks of pitch till the end of her life.
